How to Read the Garmin Striker 4 Sonar Display

Does anyone accept one of these units if so how do you like it I am thinking of getting it to mark my points and have equally a backup flasher when my hummingbird 45 is acting up

I saw this post and checked information technology out. I ordered one cuz I am a sucker for all in one contraptions,like fishfinder,flasher and gps in one.I realize that it might not do any of those tasks as well every bit a standalone simply I will let y'all know.

I picked i up fri dark at bass pro.  had information technology out on saturday for a couple of hrs.  works also as my vex fl8 ever did.  it too has zoom, divide screens, graph mode and flasher style, and gps.  gps will gear up waypoints but doesn't take lake maps.  gps function will work ameliorate on my kayak for route traveled, distance traveled, and wayback etc.  screen is very clear and sensirive plenty to pick up every fish i caught and the fish i missed on.  used the flashe mode a little but found i beloved the standard graph style with amplitude bar.  works just similar flasher unwound merely then shows the history.  i was able to marker to jigs from holes 3 ft apart.  dialed them down to faint blips and could come across one at xx ft and i at 18 ft in 23 ft of water.  i would say an absolute bargain for $119.  have a genz box coming from amazon to mount it in for winter and a kayak for the balance of the twelvemonth.  all the same learning the gps functions merely every bit a fishfinder it works dandy.  screen is a little small simply very clear.

I ended upward ownership one of these concluding night and got it out on the h2o tonight.  I got the portable pack.  This is my first fish finder but I borrowed vexilar fl8 a few times concluding year. I'm withal learning the settings but I was very impressed with it so far.   I was angling about 15' of water today and was able to mark a modest jig clearly.  I did accept the gain set college than I thought I should to come across information technology.  But I'k thinking that is due more than to me not knowing how to properly set it up.  I was mostly using it on 77hz chirp but dunno if that was the best.   I did really like the traditional screen with the A-telescopic and the split screen zoom.  It definitely helped me catch fish tonight.  Didn't play with the GPS function yet.  Really happy with the unit.

Well I ended upwards ownership the unit and I used it twice and connected to same battery every bit my ice45 and I think I am liking the garmin better I am used to using the flasher but I had it on the sonar most of fourth dimension with the hummingbird flasher adjacent to it and concluded up watching the garmin more than sure love it so far and it information technology pocket-size which means I would have more room in sled and I can gps my spots and very well priced I also noticed that Amazon is sold out of them at present so others must be liking also

Is the transducer different if you buy the standalone versus the portable package? I found the unit solitary for $120 an the portable pack with the example and bombardment for $200. The package says information technology is geared towards water ice fishing but I was wondering if that is marketing or if in that location is a difference in the hardware. It looked to me like the standalone unit of measurement cones with a transducer deigned to exist mountd on a boat, only I m not certain.

The portable kit has the aforementioned transducer I believe.  I don't know if the mount is the aforementioned though.  The portable mount has a big suction cup to attach it to a boat but it likewise holds the cable to let y'all dangle it downwardly the hole under a float.  Here is a picture of the transducer without the suction cup if it works, videos don't seem to want to piece of work today.

Still trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on one of these. Ane more than question. In your motion picture, information technology looks like the transducer is rounded on the bottom as opposed to the flat bottom cone on a vex or marcum. Tin it withal give you a reading through the water ice even though it does not sit down flat or practise you demand to drill a pigsty? Thanks again.

Well the 1 I ordered was gonna take too long to go here since it was back ordered. I take a derby in virtually a calendar week and a half so I cancelled the order and ordered the Striker 4DV instead. It's non a portable, I'k gonna pull all the stuff off an one-time Piranhamax portable I have and hook it up to that frame. The Striker 4DV is $179.

Been using it regularly. Love it. I accept an older model portable kit that took a little rigging to brand
It fit merely made it piece of work. The functionality is endless. It fifty-fifty as an a scope mode along with flasher etc. separate screen and am marker gps spots as I go. Well worth the $119 all mean solar day. Only slight to information technology is a little screen by fifty-fifty with my bad eyes it has not been a problem at all. Def would recommend this to anyone!
