Master Manus (also known equally The Paw) is a right hand-like entity who acts every bit the creator of the Super Smash Bros. universe and is besides the owner and top collector of the Globe of Trophies. He is the principal adversary of the Super Blast Bros series. It is assumed that Primary Hand is the representation of the kid who owns the trophies nerveless throughout the game. Due to his position equally a boss, Master Paw is only playable in the games through hacking (save for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), but in Melee, a glitch exists that makes him playable. Master Hand's origins are unknown and his and Crazy Manus's purposes are undiscovered. All the same, Master Hand and Crazy Hand seem to respectively stand for creation and destruction. He has been a dominate on all Super Smash Bros. games.

In Super Blast Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, a huge black-similar substance called Swarm emerges from Master Hand when challenging Master Mitt and Crazy Manus on five.1 intensity or higher.

Super Smash Bros.

Official artwork for Master Paw in Super Nail Bros.

In Super Smash Bros., Master Manus is the final opponent of the 1P Game. He resides in a level called Master Mitt'south Residence by fans. He uses his size and shape to his advantage - he slaps, punches and flicks the player effectually.

Primary Paw can't be defeated by normal means; instead, he has 300 HP which must be depleted. In one case 0 HP is reached, he explodes into the background and the character is turned back into a toy.

Master Hand as well appears in the opening cinematic. He positions inanimate toy versions of two random characters on a table, and, after advisedly positioning everything around them, he counts to iii on his fingers, snaps his fingers, and changes the tabular array into a stage resembling Princess Peach's Castle.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Chief Hand's appearance in Melee.

Super Smash Bros. Melee sees Principal Hand taking a similar role - he is the concluding boss of the one-thespian Classic fashion, and, like in his Super Smash Bros SINCE 1999 function, has a gear up HP which must be depleted to win. There are, nonetheless, a few changes made to him. His moveset is slightly altered, he loses the ability to turn effectually, and his HP is altered based on the difficulty (for case, he merely has 150 HP when fought on Very Easy way, where Super Smash Bros. had him fixed to 300 regardless of the mode).

The game also introduced Crazy Hand, Master Hand'south left-hand counterpart. When the ii are on the field at the same time, they can perform powerful combination attacks. Crazy Hand appears to aid his right-mitt counterpart when set conditions are met: If Archetype Mode is reached on Normal, Hard, or Very Hard without having continued.

Master Hand does not appear in the opening cinematic, though his bays (see below) elaborates his part in the Super Smash Bros. universe. A manus not wearing a glove does appear, though, which some people believe to be Master Hand's true form, though this has non been confirmed past the developers.

Oddly, information technology was found that in Sound Test of the corresponding game, audio #64 of the announcer's lines, Master Hand was named, with the aforementioned happening to Giga Bowser, though this sound isn't used in the game. His name also appears on the big screen on the Pokémon Stadium phase, just information technology appears every bit "Masterhand" rather than "Main Mitt". Information technology could be possible he was going to be playable, but the idea was scrapped during game development. However, in this game, he is playable through a glitch. However, most 1 player modes freeze the game, and in multiplayer the game freezes after stock battles because he lacks a victory pose. However, in later versions, in the "Stamina Mode" Master Manus can win (or lose) without problems but instead of the victory screen showing up, information technology goes directly to the Thespian Selection. If the match is ended before a winner is chosen, he will non appear, merely the name on the bottom volition show Sheik and her Triforce symbol. Because of this, if ane of Master Hand's opponents is Sheik in any situation, the game will freeze.

Bays Description

Trophy #159: The Master Hand awaits anyone who survives the long difficult road to the Final Destination. This symbolic link between the real earth and the imaginary battlefields of Super Blast Bros. Melee is quite a scattering in battle, and simply because he wears a white glove doesn't mean he fights clean. Be ready to become poked, punched, flicked, and swatted like crazy!

Super Smash Bros. Ball

Official artwork of Primary Mitt in SSBB.

Master Mitt is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He reprises his role as the concluding boss in Classic mode. His attacks are very similar to that of his Melee form with some changes. The amount of HP he has is still dependent on the difficulty likewise. Crazy Mitt also returns in Archetype Mode, with weather condition similar to the ones in Melee.

Main Hand in the Subspace Emissary.

Role in the Subspace Emissary

Master Mitt too appears in the Subspace Emissary, as Ganondorf's, Wario's, and Bowser'south boss. Soon, a Subspace Bomb is used on Male monarch Dedede'south castle, Ganondorf receives new orders from Master Hand, which he gets via a Boob tube screen.

Master Mitt released from his bonds.

Yet, when all of the characters arrive in the Subspace world, Master Manus turns out to be Tabuu'southward boob. Ganondorf attacks Tabuu with his Dark Dive but is hands knocked back, though while he falls he breaks Master Hand's strings, thus freeing him. Master Paw too attempts to strike Tabuu, but just like Ganondorf, is defeated with little effort. Being a bit different from the playable characters, he does not change into a trophy, and simply lies motionless apparently showing that he was unconscious and defeated.

Knowing that he would exist able to use Master Hand to recruit fighters to assist him in his goals, Tabuu defeats Master Hand with the chains of low-cal some fourth dimension before the plot of the Subspace Emissary begins. Indeed, his bays suggests that Master Paw himself is not inherently evil, or he disliked the fact that at that place was someone stronger than him.

Trophy Description

A being tied to the link between this world, where trophies fight, and the earth beyond. The pregnant of his existence is unknown, equally are his goals, but he seems to accept obtained (and kept hidden) a ability that borders on absolute. He too seems to experience a certain joy in challenging chosen warriors who've claimed many victories. He waits even at present in Concluding Destination.

His finger bullet tin now exist angled.

Master Hand reveals his true form, Principal Core.

In the 3DS version, when playing on Intensity ii.9 or lower, the role player can only fight Master Paw on his own. When playing on any Intensity of 3.0 or college, a black path opens where Main Hand and Crazy Mitt can be fought at the same time (they both share the same amount of health this time). If taking the black path on Intensity 5.1 or higher, after taking out 60-70 health from either of them, Crazy Paw, engulfed in dark flames, will vanish and retreat and Principal Hand's glove rips open up and transforms into Master Core, which must be fought and defeated to vanquish the stage. Master Paw can be fought alone up to Intensity vii.nine. When playing on any intensity whatsoever college, he cannot be fought lone; the blue path will disappear and merely the blackness path remains, forcing you into a fight with him, Crazy Mitt and Main Core.

In the Wii U version, Master Hand will be fought past himself on lower Intensities. However when conditions are met, the role player will exist forced to fight both Master Mitt and Crazy Hand, too equally Master Core if at five.1 or higher Intensity.

When defeated, Master Hand will simply collapse onto the stage, equally opposed to flying off into the background. The "connect controller" and "move list" options are disabled in the game'southward intermission menu.

Master Hand and Crazy Hand are also the bosses of Candy Constellation.

Playability

Though there are several "cheats" that supposedly permit Principal Hand to be played as a normal character, nigh of them are false; the only methods of controlling Main Mitt are through a cheating device such as a GameShark or Action Replay or using the cheat menu on sure emulators.

Changes from Melee to Brawl

  • Has been buffed - many of his attacks are faster, deal more damage, and are more hard to dodge. Walking Paw and Hand Swipe accept an almost instantaneous start-up.
    • Walking Hand begins almost instantaneously and has more than power, allowing Master Mitt to suddenly hit (and potentially KO) nearby players.
    • Hand Swipe is faster, stronger, and covers a larger area.
  • Hand Drill is more than hard to dodge: it can only exist dodged if a actor perfectly executes a roll, or leaves the phase until the attack finishes. Even then, many characters' rolls are besides short to escape his vacuum, and going off the phase can brand it difficult to come up back (With the exception of Peach'due south float and Mr. Game & Watch's Burn with correct timing), as there are hitboxes of the drill that preclude from grabbing the ledge.
  • After using Jet Technique, Principal Hand returns to his normal position on the right side of the stage, instead of appearing on the left and travelling back to the right side. It now uses magic instead of fire.
  • During the start of Master and Crazy Easily' Applause set on, characters are hitting past the Fan outcome while in the air.
  • Ram creates no freeze frames, regardless of whether information technology hits or misses.
  • Laser set on moves forth and back one time.
  • Gun set on cannot be avoided by crouching.
  • Relative to the average knockback of their moves, Master Mitt is at present more powerful than Crazy Hand.
  • Master Hand'south ram cannot be avoided by standing withal. If beingness rammed by Crazy Paw, however, standing still will let Crazy Hand to wing over your head without causing harm.
  • The platform has been shrunk, making it more difficult to hit him.

Trivia

  • Main Hand starts the original Super Smash Bros. opening, as he sets up the stage and characters, and he is the start Smash character ever seen. This has been a role of the game's controversy over the fighters being "toys", either being brought to life by a child's imagination or that Main Hand had brought them to life with his "Create" powers.
  • Since the Announcer never speaks when the player fights Primary Hand, it is speculated that Primary Hand is, in fact, the Journalist.
    • This is supported by the fact the vox actor of the Journalist, regardless of which Smash game, besides voices Chief Hand, every bit well as Crazy Paw in Melee, Brawl and 3DS/Wii U and Ultimate.
    • They are voiced past Jeff Manning in Super Smash Bros., Dean Harrington in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pat Cashman in Super Smash Bros. Ball and Xander Mobus in Super Blast Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U and Ultimate.
    • However, in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the Announcer now speaks when the role player fights Master Hand.
  • The Bondage of Light go out bloody wounds on Primary Hand, suggesting that he may contain organic cloth. Interestingly, he seems to take glowing bluish blood, even though his wounds are red. The revealing of blood could exist a factor in the reasons why Brawl was rated "T for Teen" past the ESRB and rated "PEGI 12" by PEGI. However, the concept of the blueish stuff being blood is speculation.
    • The previous game, Melee, was also rated "T for Teen/PEGI 12", but did not contain such content.
  • Many gamers like to presume Master Hand "died" in Subspace Emissary, merely this is not true, as Master Manus appears in Super Blast Bros. for 3DS/Wii U. It is more likely Primary Hand passed out.
  • If Main Hand (or Crazy Hand, for that matter) is KO'd on Brinstar in Melee via Debug Menu, he bounces endlessly on the acid. Using the developed mode camera, he tin exist seen bouncing away even one time he leaves the stage and is in the black void behind the phase. It'southward interesting to notation that the acrid programming goes out this far. Since the vertical position of a portion of the acid does non depend on its horizontal position, all the same, it is possible that merely the current height of the acid is used to summate player damage, in which case the acid programming would go out infinitely far horizontally speaking.
  • In Super Smash Bros. Melee, if either Principal Paw or Crazy Hand gets a transformation item (i.due east. Super Mushroom, Starman, etc.), in that location is a chance the game freezes if the level is non Final Destination or Battlefield. Yet, Battlefield has a higher risk of freezing.
  • The Master Manus and Crazy Mitt may take originated from sure bosses in Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Kirby'southward Nightmare in Dream State, Kirby Super Star and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as attacks used by the Master Hand and the Crazy Hand are similar to the attacks used by Eyerok, Wham Bam Rock, Andross, and Bongo Bongo.
  • In Super Boom Bros., Primary Hand was much more glove-like in shape, merely in Melee and Brawl, he looks more similar an arm which fades on the wrist.
  • Master Hand and Crazy Hand are the merely characters in the Super Blast Bros. series to debut in a game from that series, just besides appear in another series. They also appeared in Kirby & the Astonishing Mirror, both of them being bosses.
  • Master Paw appears in a commercial for Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (2000 in Nihon, 2001 in North America) where he is property the Gameboy Color, controlling the game.
  • Strangely, in Melee, the narrator has a narration for Master Hand like he does for all other characters, although this is never used in game. He does not, however, have a narration for Crazy Hand, although he does for Giga Bowser.
  • It is speculated that the hand in the game over screen from the Kirby series is Master Hand, as his name in the files is Master Hand.
  • In Super Nail Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, there is a glitch where if yous pause at the aforementioned time i of the hands is dying, the express mirth will not exist heard. It is currently unknown why this glitch happens.
  • In the kickoff Super Smash Bros. game. If the player uses cheats to play as master mitt. He is able to motility Master Paw around the stage. This is not possible in melee as he can't wing around the stage without attacking get-go.
  • In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the inside of Principal Hand, which can usually be seen directly through his wrist, is missing. When the camera is looking direct through his wrist, it will instead show anything that's supposed to be behind him and, if possible, parts of his fingers. This applies to Crazy Hand as well, though this does not apply to either of their trophies nor in Super Boom Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
